The jungles of Cauca, Columbia.<br/> <br />A military bombing campaign was underway against the leader of Latin America's longest-running insurgency...the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia, or FARC.<br/> <br />Newly-released video obtained by Colombian television shows the dramatic operation as it happened.<br/> <br />This is the man the troops were after -- Marxist rebel boss Alfonso Cano.<br/> <br />The military credits this unidentified soldier with killing Cano, although he says at the time he didn't realize it was the FARC leader he had shot.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) UNIDENTIFIED SOLDIER WHO KILLED FARC LEADER ALIAS ALFONSO CANO, SAYING:<br/> <br />"He gets up and tries to run. Obviously, the first thing I thought is that he was going to shoot at me, he's my enemy.
