I can always feel when your eyes <br />are on me. There is a warmth <br />that envelops me <br />and I know when I turn <br />you will be there <br />with your laughing eyes <br />and your head ever so slightly tilted <br />with the sunlight playing on your face <br />and your thoughts <br />spilling out in your heartsong. <br /> <br />You know my thoughts <br />almost before I do <br />and you read them <br />and listen to them <br />and imbibe them <br />as gently as a dragonfly’s dreams <br />and you answer them <br />with fingers soft-tracing <br />a path from my eyes to my mouth <br />and in winged words <br />that relax my shoulders <br />and melt me <br />into your strong, protective arms <br />and give birth to <br />your favourite <br />of my smiles. <br /> <br />(30 September 2011)<br /><br />Diana van den Berg<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/your-eyes-on-me/
