I was in the dark with no way out <br />I partied hard without a doubt <br />Nothing was going to stop me now <br />I was me and I was showing them all how <br /> <br />How to go from good girl, to apart of the world <br />From knowing right from wrong, but not being very strong <br />How to let depression get the best of me, I was to blind to see <br />How to love my kids with all my heart <br />yet leaving them with a broken heart <br /> <br />Yes that was me, I was living free <br />Unhappy as one could be, waiting for someone to rescue me <br />I tried to take my own life, cutting my arm wide open with a knife <br />While my two baby boys, was in the next room playing with toys <br /> <br />I was in the dark with no way out <br />Partying hard without a doubt <br />Nothing was going to stop me now <br />I was me and I was showing them all how <br /> <br />God had a plan for me, that's why I am still here you see <br />He allowed me to go through those things, <br />so with me a testimony I would bring <br />Having the the right people in my life, and <br />becoming a very special mans wife <br />I truly am free, the darkness no longer has a hold on me <br /> <br />My Lord & Savior never left my side, even when I tried to hide <br />I now have four boys, and they are happily playing with their toys <br />I am now over six years clean, with many more testimonies to bring <br />I now live in the light, where everything is so beautiful and bright <br />For I have God in my heart, and we will never again be apart<br /><br />Carey York<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/in-the-dark-with-no-way-out/
