Mack the Knife - Louis Armstrong 1959

A show tune from “The Threepenny Opera” was put on the map by Louis in 1955. This all-time standard, returned Louis to the best seller list, after an absence of several years. In 1956 this song went around the world to popularity not dreamed of.
Just like me, You probably heard Louis play and sing Mack the Knife hundreds of times. Louis recorded it on several of his albums.
The thrill of seeing Louis play and sing this tune was a wonderful experience. You must be over 50 years old to have seen Louis do this live.
So, unless you have seen this 1959 concert film from Stuttgart Germany before it should be a unique surprise for you as well.
Next to Louis playing trumpet and doing the vocal we see Peanuts Hucko clarinet, Trummy Young trombone, Billy Kyle piano, Mort Herbert bass, and Danny Barcelona drums.
