No scorpion dance
punishes sterility
it won’t kill itself

Its tail instead lashes on prey
Because the natural order says so
The order in-between man’s conscious

Before he left caves
Man crawled with the scorpion
Machines unchisled yet

Men left caves for new passions
But the simpler things stayed on the ground
And walked into men’s old homes

Those scorpions laughed
“We can not be simpler creatures, ”
then those on two legs! ”

“How would they use poisoned tails? ”
“Would they just stab their foe in the back? ”
“Or fight Nature’s cruel game right? ”

They watched deep inside
caverns to see how men fought.
They were not surprised.

The balance strictly broken
Scorpions crawl to extinct man’s feet
Man’s self destruction is right

The simpler things will win.

Christopher J.
