Malaysia's opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim begins his final appeal against conviction on a sex charge and a five year prison term.<br/> <br />He was convicted in March of a sex act with a male assistant.<br/> <br />Rights groups say the verdict was politically influenced.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) MALAYSIAN OPPOSITION LEADER ANWAR IBRAHIM SAYING:<br/> <br />"He just began the submission, so a long way to go. I'm always confident based on facts and law."<br/> <br />A ruling against him is likely to end his political career, and his supporters could take to the streets.<br/> <br />This is Anwar's second conviction for such an offence. His first was overturned in 2004.
