like three philosophers, <br />they sat shivering in the wind, <br />couloured cans, <br />in there hands, <br />mumbling and fumbling <br />for words lost in the alcholic, <br />well of a stomach, <br />red faced and yellow fingered, <br />they watch the world go by, <br />cars come and go, <br />people come and go, <br />rainbows appear, <br />and the three, <br />sit, and sip, <br />curse argue and laugh, <br />like three statue's <br />they remain every day, <br />sat positioned the same, <br />drinking the days aways, <br />letting the other play <br />the game of life, <br />sucking on rushed rolled ciggaretts, <br />shaking in drunken conducter like fashion, <br />each soul with a seperate story to tell, <br />each one bathing in the hot baths of hell, <br />then today as i was on my way to work, <br />only two sat sipping the coulored cans, <br />they must have seen me staring, <br />' stayed to long' one of the red faces said, <br />'decided to stay the night <br />froze to death <br />paramedics said, <br />can was still in his hand' <br />not knowing what to say, <br />i bowed my head, <br /> walked on <br />and vowed to ensure, <br />that i would dedicate, <br />this poem to the one, <br />that stayed on too long.<br /><br />Not Long Left<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/for-the-one-who-stayed-on-too-long/
