Wispy clouds <br />In Kaleidoscope sky <br />Are the clouds really angels <br />Watching over me, <br />My children? <br /> <br />Branches reach upward for something <br />Like my eyes looking upward for something <br />Beyond the wind and the flutter of the leaves <br />At the tops of the trees <br />Beyond the first star. <br /> <br />Three geese fly by and one drifts away <br />Like I drift away <br />Searching for solitude <br />Longing for solitude. <br /> <br />Maybe lying here <br />On this sleeping bag <br />In my backyard <br />On this warm night <br />Underneath the approaching fog <br />With two kids running in and out of the house <br />Two cats darting and playing <br />Maybe I have no further to look <br />Solitude has been here all along <br />Under these angel clouds <br />These millions of stars.<br /><br />Connie Webb<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/solitude-13/
