Seems like most days I'm always on the go <br />Doing this or that, my engine always 'revvin <br />But once in a while, I stop and take it slow <br />Relaxing in my little piece of heaven. <br /> <br />I like to sit on my deck, reading or just listening <br />The sounds of nature is all I hear <br />The day is brand new, the dew on the grass still glistening <br />Times like this, I feel God is very near. <br /> <br />Although my deck is just a wooden deck <br />In my mind, I'm sitting in the garden of Eden <br />Totally at peace, calm and not a fret <br />Just me and God, that's all I'm needing. <br /> <br />I'm just relaxing by God's beautiful shore <br />Listening to the waves and watching birds fly overhead <br />Feeling God's love wash over me, more and more <br />I regard this time with Him very sacred. <br /> <br />But all too soon, the time is short and I feel pressed <br />My job is calling, and I must face another work filled day <br />But this time has been well spent; I'm now refreshed <br />He's in my heart, and everything will be ok. <br /> <br />I'm now ready to go, my engines revvin' <br />Thanks to my little piece of heaven.<br /><br />Rick Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-piece-of-heaven/
