This porcelain doll has no sight <br />her eyes are painted brown <br />she stares at day as though at night <br />through a curly head high and round <br /> <br />Sequins and gems on her dress <br />Though she will never move an inch <br />Always suppose to look her best <br />on a sturdy, wooden bench <br /> <br />Her hands will forever grasp air <br />never to make a fist <br />tiny fingers always will remain bare <br />her perfect lips will never see a kiss <br /> <br />Her head is full with cotton <br />her face is made of glass <br />her creator long forgotten <br />he long ago finished his task <br /> <br />What can become of this girl <br />She will never speak a word <br />And longs to commuicate with the world <br />but her voice won't be heard <br /> <br />No one can end her pain <br />How do I tell her it's an infection <br />because the world has become so vain <br />You're just a doll in my collection!<br /><br />Dwayna Avery<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dolls-and-destiny/
