Surprise Me!

Andrew Devin - The UnExpected Companion

It was dark and I stood alone at the station,
The train didn't came and the sweat around my eyes illustrated my frustration,
As my mind wobbled around the psycho who was killing only guys,
And for pleasure he took out their eyes.

I tried to wipe off the sweat and my anxiousness,
As if someone waits to bushwhack me in the darkness,
And all of a sudden I heard some footsteps approaching,
I tried to stop my heart but it kept on trembling.

Out of the wilderness came out a young lady,
I couldn't get off my eyes she was so pretty,
Her first words spoke as a cool breeze through my ears,
I think I heard her, but I lost them in the depth of her eyes.

Her looks and smile were so enigmatic,
As she gazed straight into my eyes,
But appearances can be deceiving,
As she continued with her talking.

She picked on the theme of that psycho-killer,
She knew that would give me the chills,
For next hour, she kept talking about all those kills,
But I listened carefully, there is something about those deaths.

I wished the train would come here soon,
None to witness the beauty and the beast but the lonely moon,
And here she comes smiling, beguiling,
'Did I frighten you, did I made you scared? '

Surprised and astonished I asked, 'But aren't you afraid in this night? ',
'Don't worry about me, only men he kills', she replied as with a delight,
'In that case, ', I said as the train approached towards the station,
'I guess I have to make an exception'.

Andrew Devin

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-unexpected-companion/
