Autumn <br /> <br />Fall is the only time of the year <br />When you fall in love with everything <br />The smell of the pumpkin and sour-sweet cider <br />The green leaves turning brown and then falling <br /> <br />When the sharp autumn wind blows <br />Why is the cool breeze exciting? <br />You know the dust and the smoke follows <br />And a smell of a whole lot of things burning <br /> <br />There are nuts and sticks on the ground <br />Every dead leaf and dried pod rattles <br />Stepping on some makes a magical sound <br />Won’t even care if you step on spiders <br /> <br />I love fall and the cloudy sky <br />I love the fact that the air is cool <br />It is nice to cuddle anytime we try <br />Even watching a cold and dirty pool <br /> <br />I love fall; even it makes my skin chilly red <br />Even when my silly dog can spell burr <br />You can smile even if you have burned the bread <br />Laugh even if the weather is too cold for shower <br /> <br />I love fall; the cold air makes a warm breath <br />So beautiful, so kissable and smells like an apple <br />You can be assured I will hold you ‘til death <br />I promise I will let you love me until I crumble <br /> <br />Only in the Fall…<br /><br />Kay Barcelon<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/autumn-18/
