Listen, this silence is deafening, <br />locked away in this darkened room. <br />Alone with these walls of despair, <br />deep shadows cast byt he moon. <br /> <br />The dim glow through the window, <br />screaming release from the shadow. <br />Pale walls echoing my beathing, <br />with no escape, no where to go. <br /> <br />Sweat dripping down my face, <br />the tocking of a clock strikes midnight. <br />The chime explodes in my ears, <br />as I lay in wait for the light. <br /> <br />No breeze here to rock me to sleep, <br />the warm stale air lingers around. <br />Staring in to a deep dark shadow, <br />the corner of my room no longer found. <br /> <br />Every second feels like an age, <br />with eyes in the shadows that stare. <br />I know that if I sleep, <br />I would only dream of them there. <br /> <br />Erruptions of noise in the distance, <br />from clubs inside the town? <br />I find myself staring out the window, <br />still waiting for the light, I frown.<br /><br />Kev Elmer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dark-5/
