Many words you've given me, <br />many hopes and dreams. <br />Your 'Love like a forgotten scent <br />that brings a memory, ' <br />This you said would never fade, <br />With these words my life was made. <br /> <br />You said I showed you incomplete <br />and by doing so <br />I brought about a change in you. <br />How I do not know, <br />But Love you said would never fade, <br />With this love my life was made. <br /> <br />Now there is no moon or night sky <br />or stars that shine above <br />to reflect the song within my heart, <br />the song you said you loved. <br />I prayed that song would never fade, <br />and with that prayer my life was made. <br /> <br />And now what am I to do <br />when everything I have known, <br />Your words, your love, and love's song <br />away with joy have flown. <br />I'd hoped that joy would never fade, <br />and on that hope my life was made. <br /> <br />But hope brings hurt and lonliness, <br />this you said to me. <br />I say hope brings love and faith <br />and sings life's melody. <br />For without hope my love would fade, <br />so on that hope my life is made. <br /> <br />For my dear life, I will hold on. <br />It will be tough I know. <br />The one thing that I ask of you, <br />don't ask me to let go. <br />For without the hope of you I fall, <br />Without you, Life is not life at all.<br /><br />Katherine Rhodes<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/your-words/
