A bird flew in from the west, <br />he was a little out of breath. <br />His heart was pumping in his chest, <br />he was the first to land he was the best. <br /> <br />He looked around, if it was safe <br />this guy was alone he was a waif. <br />So for him to find a friend, <br />would help his heart mend. <br /> <br />He saw a bird high on the wire, <br />then he sang with such desire. <br />It was great he passed the test, <br />now they started to build a nest. <br /> <br />When it was done, a song they sung. <br />Of two birds in love and their young. <br />Soon the nest was full of happy chirping chicks, <br />The little bird was so happy, next year the same he predicts.<br /><br />David Darbyshire<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/he-predicts/
