I sat staring <br />at what they said was colors <br />but to me was just blobs <br />of gray, or grey <br />and wondered what they meant, <br />why was this thrilling <br />was this supposed to make me feel <br />happy? <br />what should have been stimulating my eyes <br />and exciting my mind <br />meant nothing. <br />my mind was elsewhere <br />near the river <br />where you always go <br />watching the silhouettes of the river boats <br />and the light reflect <br />off your breath in the cold air, <br />secretly wishing that you’d touch me, <br />kiss me, need me, <br />like I need you <br />because my time without you <br />has been just blobs <br />of gray, or grey <br />and meant nothing <br />except that I know <br />I can’t live without you<br /><br />Katherine Rhodes<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/silhouettes-and-gray/
