It rained all over me all night,
and I got good and wet,
at first I shook my fist at him,
it didn't seem to do much good.

Then I shook my finger at him,
any guesses how I did with that?
Finally, I shut up...
I couldn't believe it either!
but, I really did!
- - - for a while, anyway!
- - - And I tried to listen to the rain.

I'm still not sure where it was falling,
first the left side, then the other side,
and then it seemed to me,
on every side at once!

It is amazing when your ears get open,
the things that you can hear,
It is even more incredible when the
brain gets open, just a little more.

Each dropp is like a symphony,
where every note is heard,
and savored as if flavored by
the eardrum of the listener.

AND THEN - - - It's like a contest,
as to who can be more crude!
Claps of thunder, bolts of lightning! ,
Rushing waters running down the hills,
sweeping everything away!

Nothing left there anymore,
where once their was potential,
... and then the little sprig pops up,
and starts reaching for the sun!
and then the next one and the other one!
and then before you know what happened,
the whole damned hillside is overgrown again!

I am not sure about the California term,
or the Texas terminology,
But... where I come from,
we call that...
