Resting on the slope of a summer field <br />A youth gazes upwardly at nomadic clouds <br />The sun's almond light to them must yield <br />As a westerly breeze eases away mental clouds <br /> <br />Nothing exists outside this Eden-like Garden of Pleasure <br />As the river below him flickers timelessly by <br />This day belongs to his spirited heart forever <br />Burying deep in him a secret childlike joy <br /> <br />There's hope that sleeps from his inward chest <br />That there will always remain this boyhood scene <br />Even when times are burdened with adult unrest <br />That Summer Field will be his own reassuring daydream<br /><br />C.A.
