People are so distracted with material things, <br />they seem to be forgetting, <br />what Easter means, <br />Easter was the death of Christ, <br />he gave up his life, <br />I see it as such a waste, <br />a day of sadness, but we stuff our face, <br />no-one cares now, <br />material things make it all better, <br />no-one needs to think, or feel, <br />no-one knows which emotion is real, <br />we're getting so attached to plastic, <br />we need to look past it, <br />we're spiralling out of control, <br />all the little girls want are barbies dolls, <br />you all need to see, <br />that material isn't all its cracked up to be, <br />and celebrate the day that used to mean so much before, <br />celebrate the cross and so much more, <br />you don't have to be religious just remember, <br />that jesus christ had to surrender, <br />for his faith, so pause from stuffing your face.<br /><br />emily summers<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/modernised-meaningless-easter/
