I wish I was a grownup. <br />They know what they want to do. <br />When I get bigger than I am, <br />will I know what I want too? <br /> <br />I could be a teacher like Mr. Brown, <br />grading papers all day long. <br />When little kids learn all he knows, <br />then the next year, they move on. <br /> <br />It would be fun to be a trash man, <br />dumping out the garbage cans. <br />I love to get real dirty <br />and I hate to wash my hands. <br /> <br />I could be a policeman 'n wear a badge, <br />chasing bad guys all day long. <br />I could make 'em have a Time Out <br />for stuff they did that's wrong. <br /> <br />I'd really like to be a priest <br />'n teach people 'bout God's lessons, <br />'cept they'd say stuff I shouldn't hear <br />when I have to do confessions. <br /> <br />Or I could be like Daddy, <br />building houses everywhere, <br />but I wouldn't like to go up high <br />on a ladder way up there. <br /> <br />When you get to be a grownup, <br />how do you know what you wanna be? <br />I guess just for now, I'll be happy, <br />being a neat little kid like me. <br /> <br /> <br />(from a little boy's point of view)<br /><br />C.J.
