A one night rendezvous so very long ago <br />A child came into the world, I didn't get to know <br />You took from me precious time, that I can never get back <br />What did I ever do to deserve treatment like that? <br />Don't know the reasons, why I wasn't good enough <br />I tried showing my love, but you made it too tough. <br />We had one great moment, in our life together <br />after that, it was like stormy weather. <br />Would have offered my help, had I known where you were at <br />& if I knew what I did wrong, I would surely take it back! <br />As I sit & watch her with a stare, I wonder if she will ever care <br />I've saved a place, for her, in my heart <br />waiting til the day, her love for me, starts. <br />Will I ever be forgiven for the things I am not <br />& given a chance to show the love I have got?<br /><br />Allen Keith Turner<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/forgiven-11/
