Today marks the start of my Mom’s stay. <br />She would have been ninety-six on this day. <br />There are many things that she has missed. <br />She can not observe the long continuing list. <br /> <br />Absent from her granddaughter’s wedding laughter. <br />Unable to hold her first infant great-granddaughter. <br />Although she is not physically here among us today. <br />I feel her gentle presence, in many different ways. <br /> <br />There is a responsibility from those who survive. <br />To keep the memory of the dearly departed alive. <br />She taught by example, how to gain independence. <br />There is a bit of her inside each of her descendants. <br /> <br />She was generous of her time, even when busy. <br />She was one of a kind.
