I just love the Yucca plant <br />With their pale yellow blooms <br />But they are a little spiky <br />And need some extra room <br /> <br />They aren’t just looking pretty <br />Native Americans knew just how <br />To weave the leaves into baskets <br />And make soap from the roots somehow <br /> <br />And the Sunflower is attractive <br />Tall and unique as well <br />With large brown centers <br />All across the country they dwell <br /> <br />It’s so fun when you drive around <br />To observe all of these things <br />The country gives us everything <br />What a joyful time it brings <br /> <br />The barns so old and tattered <br />But beautiful, don’t you think? <br />A good place to sit yourself <br />For a little while to think <br /> <br />Hay fields and colorful flowers <br />Along the roads you see <br />I’ll always love the country <br />It brings such joy to me!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-joyful-country-life/
