Even thought you are right next to me, <br />You feel a million miles away. <br />Even though I am talking to you. <br />You don't seem to hear me. <br />I don’t understand why you keep yourself so far away. <br />When the words you say, <br />But the actions you make, <br />Contradict. <br />You keep all locked away, <br />And I try to pick the lock. <br />But when it seems I have <br />And I open the chest. <br />There is just another box <br />With a more intricate lock. <br />I don’t understand why you choose to be so distant, <br />When I can see and hear you want to be so close. <br />I don’t see why you push me away, <br />When I know all you want is to be embraced. <br />I can’t help you, <br />When you don’t seem to want it. <br /> <br />Why when I am right next to you do you seem <br />To be a million miles away. <br /> <br />Why when I try to be close, <br />You just seem to get even more <br />Distant.<br /><br />Marc Robinson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/distant-2/
