Sometimes we feel weary and broken <br />Like an old barn in the country <br />So many chapters behind us now <br />A future not so bright to see <br /> <br />Our gait gets slow and we stumble <br />We lose the courage to go on <br />We’ve lost our way in the world <br />No longer feel hopeful and strong <br /> <br />We forget now, what we stand for <br />Life has blurred our reason and truth <br />A lot of years have piled up now <br />Since the day of our long ago birth <br /> <br />Our children perhaps are gone <br />They’re busy raising their families <br />We may feel lost and forgotten <br />Like a twig amidst a forest of trees <br /> <br />But that is the time that we must <br />Raise up and be the strongest of all <br />We must straighten our tired body <br />And stand up straight and tall <br /> <br />Forget that others are busy <br />Don’t seem to have time for us <br />For we lead in our own direction <br />For ourselves we can make a fuss <br /> <br />God is always waiting in the sidelines <br />Yes, he’s always there you see <br />If we need His firm direction <br />He’s waiting for you and for me <br /> <br />When we get lost in our own self-pity <br />And forget the one who truly cares <br />We must stop everything and realize <br />That our God is always there!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/god-is-always-there/
