I’m on an endless treadmill <br />my head is going round and round, <br />I see myself with no future, <br />only some kind of despair, <br />with no way out. <br />A job at a dead end, <br />which is the way I feel, <br />my life in a cul-de-sac, <br />with nothing there. <br />Backed into a corner, <br />by everything around, <br />feeling helpless and hopeless, <br />with nowhere to go. <br />No up lift visible. <br />No sanctuary anywhere. <br />No way out to be found. <br />Just going down, <br />down, <br />and down.<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/going-down-4/
