They stood beside the water <br />Their little bodies' dark this night <br />A backdropp of brilliant sunset <br />It was a glorious precious sight <br /> <br />The ducks were amazed it seemed <br />And the humans observations as well <br />Orange peeked right through the trees <br />Just so amazing once the sun fell <br /> <br />The air was still and silent <br />Only an occasional quack was heard <br />For they stayed and enjoyed the night <br />These gracious and beautiful birds <br /> <br />It was musical without even a sound <br />For you could feel it, know what I mean? <br />A sunset with sweet admirers <br />Just like it would be in a dream <br /> <br />Oh, I wish you could have been here <br />I know you’d think it was profound <br />The colors of the sky and the ducks <br />With only an occasional sound!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ducks-in-the-sunset/
