One of FJR’s poems inspired this poem. <br /> <br /> <br />The shadow of the cross <br />extended down from the hill, <br />to remind us all of faith, <br />and the need to have. <br />It spoke of an ancient story, <br />of the son of God being crucified. <br />It also told how we <br />are all brothers and sisters, <br />though we are spread out <br />across many, many lands. <br /> <br />Some people have said, <br />while looking at the cross <br />they have seen a figure there <br />wearing a crown of thorns, <br />and that he seemed to have a halo <br />as the sun greeted us in the morn. <br />Whether that be true or not <br />I do not know. <br />However when you look <br />up at the cross <br />a heavenly stillness descends down <br />on everything around, <br />and that I do know. <br /> <br />5 July 2007<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/shadow-of-the-cross/
