The Silence of a new day dawning <br />For nothing will forever stay <br />The sunrise is always so different <br />As we’re starting a brand new day <br /> <br />The Silence of a mother in prayer <br />As she asks God to protect her babies <br />Life is so challenging and she knows it <br />There are so many ‘what ifs’ and ‘maybes’ <br /> <br />The Silence of a father who watches <br />His child in a deep troubled thought <br />Who struggles with life’s many questions <br />Dad struggles too with what he has taught <br /> <br />The Silence when a storm is brewing <br />The sky changing from light to darkness <br />The thunder may perhaps break that silence <br />As though Mother Nature is in distress <br /> <br />The Silence when the day is ending <br />Sun setting can be brilliant too <br />For this day is over forever <br />We did the best we could, it’s true <br /> <br />The Silence looms all around us <br />Sometimes it’s good but of course <br />There’s always the dark and mysterious <br />That comes with life’s uncertain force!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/silence-129/
