The leaves are turning yellow <br />A chill lies in the air <br />It won't be very long now <br />Before winter time is here <br /> <br />We think about our gardens <br />Wind up those old spent plants <br />Pick the last of our veggies <br />We don't want to take a chance <br /> <br />It won't be very long now, we know <br />As we wind up and store the hose <br />Before the icy winter comes <br />And there is frost upon our nose <br /> <br />The pumpkins have turned orange <br />It is nearly time to carve them <br />But we'll let the vines turn brown <br />Right up close to the stem <br /> <br />Do you hear the leaves rustle? <br />Already when the wind blows <br />They catch the orange and yellow ones <br />And they drift down to our toes <br /> <br />But I love this time of year <br />A new season sounds its alarm <br />Nature is about to change <br />How I do love autumn's charm!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/autumn-s-charm/
