It was a wintry white-out day <br />As I went about my chores <br />A chill filled the country air <br />Ice held tight the old barn door <br /> <br />The sun was out that morning <br />The snow sparkled like tiny gems <br />The trees were oh, so beautiful <br />Snow laden on their limbs <br /> <br />The cow peeked out of the shed <br />He too I know felt the cold <br />It was the kind of day <br />That nature was so bold <br /> <br />It was then that I saw it <br />Standing out bright and red <br />It was a red apple, you see <br />A little ways from the old shed <br /> <br />It put a smile upon my face <br />So beautiful, you know? <br />It was so startling to see <br />An apple in the snow!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/apple-in-the-snow/
