You can see me; You can hear me. <br />But, I am blind and deaf. <br />I am unable to see Your enchanting beauty, <br />As I am absolutely ignorant. <br />Unable to hear Your honey-sweet voice. <br />As I am entirely unaware. <br /> <br />Even an earthly mother, <br />Can not bear her child being sightless and heedless. <br />How do You stand my pain of being vain? <br /> <br />Even an earthly mother, <br />Would spend her whole life, <br />To serve unsighted child of hers. <br />But, Oh! compassion-hearted Mother, <br />How can You turn to be stone-hearted, <br />Not ready to spend even few minutes a day, <br />To this helpless blind kid of yours? <br /> <br />Even an earthly mother, <br />Would strive her level best, <br />To bring light into the blind-eyes; <br />Would seek all means, <br />To sing songs of love to the deaf-ears; <br />Oh, All powerful Sakthi! <br />Is it a hard task to You, <br />To cast away my blindness – ignorance? <br />To purge away my deafness – unawareness?<br /><br />Raman Savithiri<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/983-eradicate-ignorance-and-unawareness/
