He's over forty years beyond his prime day
With silvery hair and gray hairs on his chest
And whilst most his age are sitting and relaxing
And giving their old weary bones a rest

He runs along the sea shore in his swim wear
The wrinkled old bloke with the deep suntan
But for his age he's fit and energetic
And there is still a lot of life in Stan.

For 10 K's he jogs in the mid day sunshine
Without stopping and never raise a sweat
Something most people half his age could not accomplish
'There's still years of living in the old bloke yet'

Stanley always has had a younger lover
And he makes love to younger one today
The younger women to him seem attracted
And with him it has always been this way.

He's fathered children with some of his lovers
But none of his children he got to know
He was not the type to play the role of father
And women to him seemed to come and go.

'A man is old when he only stops looking
And a woman old as she looks it's been said'
And it doesn't mean a man is nearly finished
If he has silver gray hairs on his head.

And Stanley for you is a prime example
Each day he jogs along the ocean shore
In his swim wear without once even stopping
For a distance of 10 K's or even more.

Francis Duggan

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/old-stan/
