My phone rings <br />I hear tears running down her face <br />A whisper asking for help is all I could hear <br />She lays in bed, motionless <br />Her heart is beginning to slow <br />She gathers every ounce of energy left <br />She tells me she loves me and is sorry for everything <br />I hear her brother in the distance screaming <br />Crying out for help <br />At that point I realized she has done what I had always feared <br />But it was too late <br />The bottle of medicine was now empty <br />flowing through her veins like a ticking time bomb <br />I set the phone down <br />Tears start falling down my face <br />Replaying the final words she spoke to me <br />Realizing my best friend just said goodbye to me for the last time <br />I will never see her smile <br />I will never hear her voice <br />And I will never feel her soft lips on mine again <br />My best friend just said goodbye <br />Goodbye to life<br /><br />jason zas<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/goodbye-to-life/
