The darkness is falling faster and faster <br />As I pound away it creeps closer and closer <br />My feet slap the ground. and crunch on the stones <br />If I go now, noone will know <br />A jet black hand is reaching to grab me <br />I slip throught its fingers and it gets angry <br />I hear it rorar, a gut-wrenching sound <br />I run a bit faster, and concentrate on the ground <br />The darkness is coming, as fast as a twister <br />When I pictured my future, it wasn't this sinister <br />My legs are tired now, I can't go on <br />So I lay on the floor and think of home <br />I think of the memories and let the darkness engulf me <br />I lay dead to the world, bathed in darkness' victory<br /><br />Shannon Beer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-darkness-11/
