Once upon a time I made up a little rhyme <br />And I thought it was just fine. <br />Wrote it on a piece of paper <br />And stored it in a drawer. <br /> <br />On one very windy day <br />I was looking for something <br />In that same place, forgetting <br />The paper was there, buried. <br /> <br />It just flew out the window <br />And I didn't even know <br />That it would embark on an adventure <br />Which I'll surely remember. <br /> <br />When I found it was lost <br />I got sad and thought <br />'I hope it's returned to me <br />I really loved it, you see.' <br /> <br />It was a very long time later <br />When someone knocked on my door. <br />He said, “I've finally met <br />The one to whom my heart has set.” <br /> <br />I learned my work left him inspired <br />He looked for its author all this time. <br />I'd captured his heart, unknowingly <br />By my words and their harmony. <br /> <br />That little paper now hangs in a frame <br />To remind me everyday <br />That once upon a time I made a little rhyme <br />And it fetched for me the love of my life.<br /><br />Cristelle Elaine Collera<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/once-upon-a-time-i-made-a-little-rhyme/
