In the United States of America last night <br />the two presidential candidates debated <br />with an obvious lackluster of intensity. <br />Between the two of them neither <br />had a light; all smoke but no fire, <br />a dry ice event if ever there was one. <br />Lower ambient temperatures <br />in the room than in an igloo; turning <br />everyone’s nipples hard. Fear not Hope <br />was the mantra of their little party. <br />There was the Ice Queen, her shrill <br />voice emasculating the men of their packages <br />and defeminizing the women with peach fuzz; <br />her cold blade of a tongue working overtime. <br />Seated to the farrrrrrr-left of her <br />was the Great White Hope of a black man; <br />a blank slate that America could use <br />to revisit, rewrite and then cross its racial divide. <br />It was two hours of many dire predictions; <br />self fulfilling prophecies and not a bright spot <br />to be seen on the country’s horizon…. <br />It was televised, Doom meets Gloom___ <br />Meanwhile in the darkest Africa, <br />all the people danced with the current President…. <br /> <br />2008 © T Sheridan<br /><br />Ted Sheridan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/liberals-vs-conservatives-dance-contest-bush-wins/
