That's not poetry, those are greeting cards <br />And not very good ones at that <br />You call yourself a poet, who are you kidding <br />Why don't you just give up, adnit you failed <br /> <br />Well, you might not think so but I am a poet <br />Maybe not in the same league as you <br />But then again, I don't think you're so good <br />At least I have one fan, other than myself <br /> <br />Just look at all that sentimental drivel <br />I love you, I love you l, oh how sweet <br />And those heartache poems, stop you're breaking my heart <br /> <br />At least my writing is from my heart <br />I mean every single word I say <br />I'm not some artsy-fartsy phony <br />Who thinks that rhyming poetry is passe <br /> <br />Artsy-fartsy phony you say <br />You wouldn't know good poetry if it bit you <br />All these so called poets make me sick <br />And you're number one on my list <br /> <br />Well if you don't like my work too bad <br />I'm not about to be something I'm not <br />Just to earn the respect of people like you <br />And yes, I do call myself a poet<br /><br />Harry J.
