I walked into the woodland across a lonely trail <br />I heard the singing of the birds and the flutter of some quail. <br />Then I came upon a stream, the gleaming water was so grand, <br />as I laid back and rested upon a calm and peaceful land. <br /> <br /> <br />You could sense the stirring of the animals that were all around <br />and you knew that you could not know this in the midst of a town. <br />It was there that dusk had found me and homeward bound I went <br />knowing that when I have free time this is how I wish it spent.<br /><br />robert meadows<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/woodland-walking/
