As if life without power is a meaningless thing <br />Ageing political leaders to their power base try to cling <br />It does seem their egos are out of control <br />And to garner more power in life their only goal <br />For to cling to power they spread rumors of fear <br />And negative stuff from them is all we hear <br />Ambiguous with their words they know how to deceive <br />But then suppose we believe what we want to believe <br />To woo gullible voters they turn on the charm <br />Make believe that they can protect us from harm <br />For victims of terrorism shed crocodile tears <br />Woo votes by hugging babies and silly old dears <br />And we vote them back in on Election day <br />The fools never learn as a wise one did say.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/as-if-life-without-power/
