The dreams that children have these days <br />Are weird and rather unusual; <br />Their dreams could change the human race – <br />Tho’ virtual and so unreal! <br /> <br />The thoughts of children nowadays, <br />Are wild and look like almost freaks; <br />Their minds can do the stellar gaze, <br />And climb the highest mountain-peaks! <br /> <br />Child-prodigies are often born, <br />Astounding world in many forms; <br />The halls of fame, their feats adorn, <br />Creating intellectual storms! <br /> <br />Most modern youth are on their own; <br />They have their ambitions in life; <br />They bother not of things well-known, <br />And accomplishments that are rife! <br /> <br />Even the baby, one-year old, <br />Can do much wonders than we think; <br />Today’s youngsters are brave and bold; <br />Like famous poets, they can ink! <br /> <br />The world today has changed a lot; <br />The modern youth is pretty smart; <br />With ease, it takes the highest slot, <br />And do things with finesse and art! <br /> <br />Let children do whatever they love; <br />Adults are there to guide them through; <br />With time, most youngsters well do prove, <br />And bring accolades, laurels too! <br /> <br />’Tis time, adults realized that <br />The modern world is great to live; <br />Their offspring can do all things but <br />Some wisdom, elders ought to give! <br /> <br />Allow your children’s dreams come true; <br />The world is fascinating much; <br />With freedom, youngsters can well do <br />All things with splendid, magic touch! <br /> <br />Let youngsters dream their dreams their way; <br />Adults must goad their achievements; <br />Let challenges come, come what may, <br />Let youngsters build new monuments! <br /> <br />Copyright by Dr John Celes 7-1-2008<br /><br />Dr John Celes<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dreams-of-the-modern-youth/
