With words I put to paper and words that I say <br />I hope I don't cause offence in any way <br />And since some feel offended by some others truth <br />In our usage of words we should not lack in ruth. <br /> <br />Those with great power at their disposal I can't say I trust <br />But I only condemn what I see as unjust <br />And since I am not one who does like to pretend <br />With my words I can't say of everyone I've made a friend. <br /> <br />In my decades of rhyming I've penned heaps of stuff <br />Though what I have written not quite good enough <br />An amateur writer who did not make the grade <br />Though few are successful in the wordsmith trade. <br /> <br />Be careful with your words don't use them out of spite <br />And be very careful with what you do write <br />And with what you say or write all will not agree <br />For we look at things one might say quite differently.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/be-careful-with-your-words/
