'Twould not be a nice World to live in a World without bushes and trees <br />With the strong stench of pollution blowing in the breeze <br />Without natural windbreaks from the gale force wind <br />And no place to shelter for the hairy and the feathered kind. <br /> <br />In a World without bushes and trees there would not be songbirds to sing <br />And as far as Nature goes we would have a silent Spring <br />In a World of many Developers and too few who for our natural environment care <br />Many species of Wildlife are in danger of extinction or rare. <br /> <br />A World without bushes and trees is not a nice thought at all <br />No green woods of Spring and Summer no brown leaves of Fall <br />No fruit for to eat in a World ravaged by drought <br />With the spectre of hunger ever lurking about. <br /> <br />Our thanks to the Greenies for standing in the Developers way <br />Without them we would have a World without flora or fauna today <br />And the thought of such even does seem hard to bear <br />So three rousing cheers for the environmentally aware.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-world-without-bushes-and-trees/
