THE PRISONER <br /> <br />My shackled life remains an eternal prisoner <br />of bonded time, <br />With only a few hours of freedom granted by <br />this life! <br />Let me not lose these precious moments while <br />I live, <br />For I know not what the morrow may bring! <br />O Time do not be in a hurry to leave, <br />Tarry, just stay for a while; <br />As I play my harp and sing my song, <br />And entice you to fall asleep; <br />While like Delilah I try to cut your hoary <br />locks! <br />Before you can rise with the break of dawn, <br />To place your manacles on my feet, <br />And whisper softly in my ears, ' Let us go, <br />your time is complete!
