I was baptized a Christian in that I did not have a say <br />And don't waste your prayers on me when I do pass away <br />If there is a hereafter for my own sins I must pay <br />What goes around comes around as some are known to say <br />Since religion never defines good from bad <br />If you believe I must have a religion for you I feel sad <br />To not believe in a greater God out there should never be a sin <br />Though I do give some credence to a God within <br />If he is one who is scathing of those of different faith <br />The God you believe in Cannot be that great <br />A true God all religions as well as believers and non believers would embrace <br />Of every nationality and of every race <br />Of me do not worry for your own soul you pray <br />For the sins of my past I am willing to pay.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-was-baptized-a-christian/
