Becoming quiet like a silent day, <br />Almost makes me feel lonely, <br />But the fading memories which were like tattoos, <br />Makes my body goes numb. <br />Slam me into reality, <br />To wake me from this endless nightmare, <br />Though deep down inside, <br />I already know I'll just be waiting again. <br />Hearing this stinging truth, <br />Irritates the still time within me, <br />So much that the echoes which ring, <br />Never end. <br />Take ahold of my soul, <br />Not anything else of mine, <br />I don't know how to explain it, <br />But it's the only thing I can really grasp. <br />Why does it rain out here, <br />More than it does inside my heart, <br />Until I'm so lost within both, <br />That I can't reach the surface I long for. <br />My body feels like a doll, <br />Moving only to the strings of fate, <br />Keeping only you, <br />The puppetmaster entertained. <br />I could watch out this window of life, <br />For how many days or nights, <br />Trying with all my might, <br />To cause some sort of change, <br />But the only thing which might shift, <br />Is my shadow as it rocks to your beat.<br /><br />Alex McCullough<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/trapped-puppet/
