Upon the ground I found a book <br />Inside was good as new <br />I took it home and had a look <br />Reading it through and through <br /> <br />That God should share His truth with me! <br />He even came and died <br />Again to rise, to set us free <br />These eyes just opened wide <br /> <br />I ventured God to speak on high <br />“Lord of Heaven and earth <br />To sin no more I can but try <br />If given second birth <br /> <br />In Christ Your Son I now believe <br />I know You hear me pray <br />Allow this wayward child receive <br />Your Light; to guide ‘The Way’ <br /> <br />I pray Your Spirit dwell within <br />Give comfort when I’m down <br />Your Flame, to purge my every sin <br />That robs me of life’s crown” <br /> <br />Right then! I felt The Spirit’s touch <br />The joy my heart so thrilled <br />The Son of God who cares so much <br />My splendid need fulfilled <br /> <br />Who is this God I’ve grown to love? <br />How awesome is His might? <br />That He should leave His throne above? <br />And clad a child in Light? <br /> <br />Who shows we’ve lived just like a fool <br />Who guides in all we do <br />Who loves each like a precious jewel <br />And gives us life anew…<br /><br />Michael P.
