Grey skies everywhere, <br />Hanging overhead, with such dread, <br />The wind cuts through you, <br />The rain lashes against your face, <br />Stinging your skin, that acid rain you must embrace, <br />The elements surround us, the wind still blows, <br />When will we see blue skies, only heaven knows, <br />Still the wind does blow, but the grey skies never go, <br />In the UK it's said to be grim up north, <br />Where the grey clouds move back and forth, <br />Summer is upon us, where is the sun? , <br />We want to go out & have some fun, <br />Where is the sun? , <br />On holiday in some exotic land, <br />Omitting it's golden rays onto golden sand, <br />Why can't you return to our green & pleasant land, <br />When I awake from my slumber, <br />I realise I was woken by the thunder, <br />Another day, a day of grey.<br /><br />Alan Bilham<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/grey-skies-2/
