You know you live a country life <br />When you see waving fields of green <br />Cattle dotting ‘cross the way <br />Such peacefulness is seen <br /> <br />Windmills whirling with such grace <br />Rustic, true and free <br />Yes, where the green grass grows <br />Is the perfect home for me <br /> <br />Horses roaming in those fields <br />Perhaps a donkey now and then <br />Wildflowers growing aimlessly <br />It’s a calm and colorful blend <br /> <br />Oh listen, hear the sound of a tractor <br />A mower wide and strong <br />It’s time to harvest that grass today <br />Husky winter bales is where it belongs <br /> <br />The smell so pure you would not believe <br />The air is fragrant and sweet <br />Fresh cut grass has a scent of its own <br />And is Mother Nature’s treat <br /> <br />Country is the destination I seek <br />Where life just naturally slows <br />The only life I would be happy is <br />Where the green grass grows!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/where-the-green-grass-grows-4/
