Somebody up there has a list <br />Fateful dates to reckon with <br />For sure each day he crossed <br />'Bout a foot long of names <br />But each day the list grows longer <br />By a meter or more than before <br /> <br />Man, the destined master of all God has wrought <br />Each day more of him are added to reap His bounty <br />Each one slashing and burning with impunity <br />Never content with a harvest for immediate needs <br />A maddened scramble for scarce resources will ensue <br />Soon the crossed out names will far exceed the new <br /> <br />Long after the added names have ceased <br />Will the earth be a barren and forsaken place? <br />Or will it flourish in its pristine and primal glory? <br />Without man to meddle with God's creation <br />The divine plan unimpeded in its course <br />World without man, a paradise for God's others<br /><br />Eddie Roa<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-beasts-will-inherit-the-earth/
